Sharon designed and built ESA, In Drapanos, Crete in 2011, as a sustainable, off- grid, international training and research academy. ESA evolved from Sharon’s vision and global experiences as a company director and teaching in business school academia over 24 years. In 2016 and 2017 she received awards at ‘World CSR Day’ in Mumbai, India, in recognition of the global sustainability education impact of ESA. ESA education programmes connect people with the natural environment. She has written about ESA as an action research, case study for ‘biophilia’ and the positive impacts on human learning and health (2016, Routledge). Currently she is preparing a paper for presentation and publication in Cairo, entitled ‘Women Architects in the Grand Design of Sustainable Development’.
